Stocklake Park School Therapy Dog

David was pleased to hear that Stocklake Park School was successful in receiving an award in the Aviva Community Fund competition, which they are using to help fund their school therapy dog programme and he thought that other constituents would be interested to hear about this competition for projects in their local areas.

The Aviva Community Fund competition is open to everyone and  "offers you the chance to get funding for an important cause in your community" with prizes up to £25,000 depending on the project proposal.

The prize Stocklake Park School has won will go towards the school therapy dog programme. The therapy dog, Patience, along with her handler, Claire, have helped the students of Stocklake Park School in a number of ways. Since the advent of the programme Patience has helped to reduce the students’ stress, aid their focus and increase motivation in therapy sessions.

Woodland Trust

I thought you might like to be aware that the Woodland Trust is launching a new scheme to offer trees to primary schools which your school may be eligible for.

The scheme will be providing schools which successfully apply with free trees and help with planting them to make the school and their local community greener.

The closing date is the 9th of September and schools can apply via the Woodland Trust here:
