It is a challenging prison to manage and we all owe a great deal to the professionalism of prison staff. Aylesbury Youth Offenders Institutions houses young men, most who have committed serious, violent or sexual offences. With the help of the Ministry of Justice, efforts are being made to reduce levels of violence and help improve the overall quality of life for prisoners. I commend the work that has been done so far, as the number of prisoners self-harming has decreased and the status of repairs and maintenance of the prison has improved. With the help of Rory Stewart, the Minister of State for Justice, I look forward to the improvements at HMYOI Aylesbury.
