Vale young people can now access free online counselling

Kooth is a new online counselling service that has been rolled out for young people in Aylesbury Vale.

The online counselling service supports young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. It was set up to help young people avoid the stigma sometimes associated with seeking help.

Young people aged 11 to 19 can register anonymously on the site, which gives them access to drop-in or booked online chats with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy certified counsellors, Psychotherapists and emotional wellbeing practitioners.

When using the service, young people are encouraged to identify goals and monitor progress with their counsellor.

It is no secret that there is a growing concern for the mental health of our young people and Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous service that provides a solution for the support of our young people. I encourage any young person in Aylesbury Vale who may be struggling with their emotional well-being and mental health to visit Kooth and take advantage of this fantastic resource. - David Lidington MP

The Kooth site is accessible at any time, via any connected device, helping to eliminate the stigma often associated with asking for help. The online counselling team is available on Kooth between mid-day and 10pm on week days and from 6pm until 10pm at weekends.
